Party Games

Freixenet party gamesMany of us might cringe when hearing the phrase "Party Games". But party games can make magic happen. Guests become witty, sexy and fun. Of course, the games themselves need to be appealing to encourage participation!

Pass the orange
This traditionally teenage game involves a single orange and the limbs and joints of everyone you know. It starts with one person placing an orange under his/her neck and passing it to the next person in line. There's only one rule: No hands. If the orange drops while you're passing it, you're out. The game goes on until one person is left holding the orange. The winner receives a prize.

Concussion
This requires lots of advance preparation on your part. Write the names of celebrities or well-known people on "Hello, My Name Is" stickers. Each participant's forehead is plastered with the name he or she can't see (for example, Pillsbury Dough Boy, Dr. Kevorkian, Marilyn Monroe). The object is for the person to guess their secret identity by asking yes-or-no questions. "Am I a cartoon?" is a good question, as is "Am I dead?" The first person to guess who they are gets a prize.

Charades
Totally corny. Really fun. Charades takes on a delicious twist if you eschew traditional categories like "movies" or "books" and instead act out categories like "junk foods", "pop icons" or "cartoons".

Pictionary Charades
This is played with a standard Pictionary game, but instead of drawing clues, game-players act them out. Note: no props are allowed, but standard Charades signals – "sounds like", "rhymes with"- are accepted.
